Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter whose works and life have become an iconic symbol of the feminist movement since her death in 1954.

She became one of the highly regarded faces of feminism because she openly challenged gender stereotypes. She would often wear brightly coloured dresses and her hair in delicate braids while enjoying hobbies and activities that were seen as more masculine, such as boxing and smoking.
