Interior Colour Trends This Summer

Interior Colour Trends This Summer

Whether it’s getting together with family and friends for BBQ’s or spending long days at the beach, Summer really is a great time of year. It’s also a time when we can get away and have a Summer break. When it comes to interiors, colour trends change for the warmer months. We can put away heavy throws and blankets and opt for lighter fabrics and colours that have that Summer feel.

When I think about Summer I think about blues, neutrals and an uncomplicated relaxed style.

Here are some colour trends for this Summer and how you can bring them into your home.

Coastal Hues

Whether you want to style your beach house or just make your own coastal getaway at home, getting the coastal style at your place is easy.

Think about taking inspiration from the sea with different shades of blue. Choose lighter tones or pastel blues to create a calming look. Think about adding deep navy tones that represent the ocean to complete the look.

A coastal style is all about a relaxed vibe with a simple palette. When styling this theme, layer gorgeous cushions, add coastal artwork and display your favourite sea shells and beach finds. It’s all about being transported to a beach or ocean that washes away all the stresses and makes your feel relaxed.

Natural Colour Palette

One of this years dominate colour trends has been a natural colour palette. It’s a colour combination that works really well in a beach house and even a suburban home and will continue to be an on trend style this Summer. Natural colours remind us of the sand and sea shells. You can add rattan furniture or lighter coloured pieces and it really works well against light wooden floors and neutral artwork. Keeping the scheme in a natural colour creates an uncomplicated style.

Natural colours create a calm home and having the right artwork to compliment this theme will finish off the look. Here are some beautiful artworks that really work well with the natural theme.

Abstract Blues

Abstract artwork works really well in any home. Whether it’s a modern beach house to a coastal shack or your own suburban home. Abstract artwork can work in any home. When I think about Summer, I really can’t help but think of blue as being a dominant colour to style with. Whether you prefer a paler blue or a moody navy, blue really represents what Summer is all about. Abstract art in all shades of blue will bring a Summer vibe to any home.

Blue can transport you to a tropical island, a back beach or a rough ocean. It really is a beautiful Summer colour to style with. In Summer the sky is blue when the sun is shining and it really makes you feel good.
