Schwartz is guided by imagination and intuition; she lets the ink guide the art, looking at each piece as a kind of visual diary; a way to document beauty, but also to create something lasting, something permanent. In a time where so much of the natural world is in peril, Schwartz's art is a constant reminder of the magnificence all around us. Sometimes, the forms manifest more organically, they seem real, touchable. Other times they can take on an invisible, hidden quality, and yet are still reminiscent of the world around us. Schwartz is often fixated on the multi-dimensional aspects of light and shadow, blurring the line between what’s real and what’s imagined.
