Akshita Sundaresh
Akshita Sundaresh is a suburban Melbourne artist who migrated from India as a toddler in 1991. Her artistic journey started at The Mac.Robertson Girls’ High School where she was encouraged by her art teacher, Mrs. Wanda Baulch. Working as a Physiotherapist for nearly 10 years in major metropolitan hospitals, art became her creative outlet during the pandemic. With the support of her family, she launched her art business this year, focusing on illustrations and large-scale mixed-media paintings. Akshita believes in infusing joy into art, captivating the audience with vibrant abstracts using a bold palette. Her 'Rupasi' collection, in contrast, draws from her Indian heritage, blending femininity and traditional jewellery into minimalist forms.
